Naija’s Starboy, Wizkid is currently embroiled in legal trouble over the recently cancelled concert in Uganda. He may be facing up to 11 years imprisonment if convicted.

The organizers Face TV have filed criminal charges of cheating, conspiracy to defraud and obtaining money by false pretenses against him for his non appearance. The concert was to have taken place on  Saturday, December 3 in Kampala.

The promoters are asking for the substantial expenses in booking and re-booking flights, hotel, venue, advertising and promotions for the concert – which over 25,000 people had already bought tickets for –amounting to over $300,000 (over N144m). This is in addition to the full performance fee of US$60,000, a brokerage fee of US$5,000 and US$3,000 as per diem for the days they were going to stay in Uganda.

Also facing the same charges is his manager, Sunday Are.

Face TV is enlisting the help of Interpol to issue a warrant of arrest for Wizkid. See the charge sheet below:
