Veteran Nigerian artist, Tony Tetuila is making a comeback with a new release soon. The singer took a break from music to pursue a career in politics.

Tony Tetuila said in a recent interview with HIPTV that since his loss at the 2015 polls he has received only love from music fans across the country.

He said if he had won the election it would still not have affected his music career.

“We learnt a lot in Kwara State. No matter how it’s going to be, the office won’t disturb what I’m doing. It’s just has to do with availability when they need you, when it comes to politics and availability when they need you when it comes to music.”

Tetuila stated that the response to his music by fans even after being away from the music scene for a long time was overwhelming.

Tony Tetuila, who is now hoping to make a comeback, said he would try to fit his sound to newer trends without losing his style.

“I believe my style is my style. All I have to do is to use the new beat and infuse my own style on it. No matter how it’s going to be people would still feel me.”

He said no one has touched his style of music since he first left the scene.

“Whenever I’m travelling people still see me and tell me ‘we miss you. We want you to do something for us. Why have you been away for so long?’” Tetuila said.

The legendary singer credited the quality of his works in the past for the “love” he is getting from music lovers across the country.

“I believe definitely, if not for good luck and hardworking I won’t be getting that comment or that kind of request from people.”
