The 2017 edition of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) awards last which held yesterday in Accra, Ghana, saw a host of Nigerian artists performing their songs.
Performances by Tiwa Savage, Flavour and Wizkid ensured that the music performances was mostly a Nigerian affair.
Because the event held in Ghana, one would have expected performances by Ghana’s topmost artists, but it was not so. This has raised debates, once again, as to the supremacy of Nigerian music in comparison with music in other countries in Africa.
Is it already time when Nigerian music becomes an umbrella name for African music?
