There are collaborations and there are collaborations. Nigerian music fans have paired some of their favourites together as some “collaborations we would like to see”. One of such collaborations might be close the verge of happening than ever expected. Why, because the well-loved maverick, Brymo has already gotten in touch the representatives of the highly revered singer, Asa, to discuss the possibility of future collaboration.

Brymo revealed this in his interview with BBC Yoruba recently. He said all that was left was for the two to set up.

Olawale Olofo’ro said the impending collaboration between him and Asa (real name: Bukola Elemide) is a deliberate effort devoid of politics.

“Many of my colleagues collaborate because of positioning. There is so much politics involved in collaboration so I chose to sing alone.”

Brymo said the collaboration between him and Asa is likely to happen because of the similarity in the subjects they sing about in their songs.

“She is the one person who I can collaborate. What she talks about; love, social issues, everyday issues are things that matter to me.”

He continued:

“I have important things to talk about. It is hard to bring someone who doesn’t know my thought process to collaborate on such a song.”

Brymo maintained that he is still against collaborations that would not add the needed value to his preferred subjects.

“I have collaborated in the past but I was not satisfied with the outcome.” He said.
