Last week, Yemi Alade dropped Yaji with Slimcase and Brainee. The video for the single is now out.

Yemi Alade knows how to make music. Especially those ones with a high propensity to make you lose your home-training. Her lowest common denominator approach to music-making is possibly why she is so maligned on the internet. Despite all of this, she keeps making good music, as she has again with “Yaji”.

The street-hop-influenced number is Yemi Alade’s first official single this year. She enlists support from Slimcase and Brainee. Slimcase, renowned for his efforts on “Issa Banger”, “Diet” and other songs, is making a meaningful crossover by strategically pitching his tent with well-established artists.

While there are traces of streets on “Yaji”, Yemi Alade still manages to keep a fine balance with a mainstream makeover. So, as you hear Slimcase’s adlibs and drivel over the instrumentation, you hear a sonorous Yemi Alade crooning clean pidgin verses.

“Yaji” strongest point is in its catchy hook and straight-to-point verses by both Yemi Alade and her posse-cuts.
