Yemi Alade recently sat down for an interview to promote her new album Yemi Alade – Mama Africa (The Diary of an African Woman)
In addition to talking about the album, the singer also fielded questions about touring, her personal life and her definition of success.
According to Yemi –
We have to be at least on the top 5 list all over the world for us to say we are successful.
Yemi explained that her new album has helped to broaden her fan base across several continents, disclosing that she hopes to take the stage in Asia at some point in the near future. The album continues to elicit reactions from all over the world but Yemi Alade insists she doesn’t feel like she’s become a success.
According to the singer –
I’m yet to reach that point where I can say oh yes, I’m now successful.
