There has been increasing calls by several musicians for the abolition of the dreadful Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). Vector has also joined the party calling for the scrapping of the unit.

Vector, who spoke during his performance at a show in Benin City recently, cited the story of a young man who was shot by the police.

The artist expressed his sadness at the incident, while also sharing his condolences to the victim’s family.

“I heard that somebody was short after the show. This is my word out to the family of the person: I hope he’s all right.”

Vector described the unruly and unlawful behaviour of SARS operatives across the country, especially in the South West, as against the police code of conduct.

He also noted that the encountering operatives of the SARS was undesirable and unpleasant experience.

“Based on being alright, it’s one thing fighting each other then things happen, but it’s a different ball game when it’s SARS.”

The rapper & singer had grown up in the barracks, with that part of his life being a conspicuous influence on his music.
