The animosity between MI Abaga and Vector tha Viper is stretching for longer than expected. The rappers have been at each other’s neck for a while now, even though somehow they managed to keep it out of public view. Last week, we heard Vector’s jab, courtesy of MI who leaked the track on his YouTube page. That single act of preemptive-ness did not work out as planned and MI took down the song later.

Fans have been calling on MI Abaga to respond since last week. After all, he can’t be letting “ordinary” Vector be dragging his name in the mud like that. MI is not quiet. Yet, he hasn’t responded.

What’s holding him back?

People say MI is doing mind games, goading Vector and all that. But many people don’t want to hear that. They are saying, enough of the mind games, if it’s sure for you as a legend, come outside. By coming outside, they are asking MI to enter the booth and record a song to silence Vector forever.

MI is tracking back. He doesn’t like trouble. Everyone knows MI doesn’t even want smoke to come out when he’s smoking his cigar. Why’s Vector coming out flexing muscle like that?

A King Kong.

True to that persona, VEC dropped a song. Another diss track. “Tetracyling”, as it is called, is out and causing a stir in the Nigerian hiphop scene.

However, the attention of the scene is divided between Tacha’s expulsion from Big Brother Naija, Zlatan’s cyberbullying of the lady and general hullabaloo. Then comes “Tetracyling”. Hiphop people are talking.

Again, they are asking MI, this little boy VEC is rapping and you’re quiet, why are you not answering him? Chairman, release the killer response.

MI is watching. Not saying anything. Yet, he’s not quiet. People are saying it’s mind games. It’s mind games. The Nigerian rap Messiah isn’t here to be replying diss tracks from another rapper who’s not known.

But Vector tha Viper has “lyricist on the roll”. He has some decent numbers on his YouTube. But MI hasn’t even done a milli in the ‘Tube! Shit.

It’s all mind games. MI has the cockiness of a beast. He believes he can shit on Vector with just one line. One swipe. And it’s over. Like a tiger’s paw. The battle is over.

But the swipe hasn’t happened. Everyone is waiting.

MI Abaga has tweeted that he’s dropping an EP next week. The long awaited response will likely be part of it.

While MI is not releasing his own response, Vector has dropped two. The way it is, na 0—2 be scores.

Hear what Vector is saying on the latest song, “Tetracycling”.
