“So my sincere advice to you is: face the fact that 2baba is not your dad and [he] owes you nothing.” Veteran rapper, Ruggedman, told Blackface this and more in the late hours of Wednesday.
Ruggedy Baba was reacting to Blackface’s comments about him and 2Baba on the recent episode of Loose Talk Podcast released on Monday.
On the podcast, Blackface had suggested that Ruggedman should focus more on creating “conscious” music, while also claiming that 2Baba had done nothing special since he left Plantashun Boyz.
Ruggedman accused the media of manipulating Blackface for content, a move he said the Ghetto Child was not too smart to fathom. He said that the media had turned Blackface into a laughing stock by bringing him in for interviews because they knew he was going to rant.
“But you turn town crier at any opportunity you get in front of a camera. I don’t want to believe that complaining on interviews and calling artists names are your only hold on relevance.”
While Ruggedman acknowledged Blackface’s musical talents, he insisted that the singer has now failed to accomplish his full potentials.
“You are now a veteran upcoming artist bro. Putting my name in your interview was a wrong move.”
He noted that because the veteran singer has had a very long career in the Nigerian music scene did not mean he was well-informed and worthy of being critical of the industry.
“The fact that you are old in the game doesn’t make you an analyst. Not every old man is wise and the even the wise ones know when and how to talk. My brother if you hit the studios as much as you rant, I know one good song would have come out.” Ruggedman added.
Speaking on the allegation Blackface made against 2Baba that the latter had stolen his song, Ruggedman said if 2Baba had indeed stolen Blackface’s song he would have done more songs like the one he claimed 2baba stole.
He insisted that Blackface was just jealous of his peers because he could not write any masterpiece the way his fellow artists are still doing.
