The performance of legendary reggae singer, Majek Fashek, at the COZA Carol last Sunday has been generating reactions from observers across Nigeria.
Radio host, Daddy Freeze’s, reaction was however the one that has gotten the most scathing feedback from the singer’s management.
Daddy Freeze had questioned the rationale behind bringing secular artists, especially Majek Fashek, to the COZA Christmas Carol which held recently.
In an Instagram post, Majek Fashek’s manager, Omenka Uzoma Day, threatened to beat up Freeze and also warned the radio host to refrain from passing reckless comments about his artist on social media.
The manager said contrary to what Freeze thought of Majek Fashek’s appearance at the Carol, the singer’s performance was completely relevant.
Day explained that because Majek Fashek’s music was spiritual it in fact was relevant to the church.
“There’s nothing wrong with a world class legend Majek Fashek who’s music sends the right message to be invited to perform in any church.”
“Majek’s music can play everywhere, even in the shrine.” He said.
