Yemi Alade is an African gem and must be protected at all times. The singer, who has only received negativity on Nigerian social media is making continental records.

Her work, “Johnny” released in 2014 is still making immense wave. This is despite being released almost five years ago.

The video for “Johnny” officially crossed the 100 million views mark on YouTube.

The milestone happened officially only this weekend, making it the second African to record over a 100 million views with a single music video.

Yemi Alade expressed her delight over the achievement on her Instagram a few hours ago.

“I’m so grateful! I’ll put in more work, as God permits,” she wrote.

“Johnny” was produced by Selebobo and the video was directed by the renowned Clarence Peters.

The Pan-African singer is presently signed to Effyzzie Music.
