Mavin’s Tiwa Savage is the latest celebrity lending their voice and presence to a laudable initiative.
She is the new face of Rotary Club’s ”This Close” public awareness campaign for polio eradication. The goal is to achieve a polio free world by raising awareness and giving vaccine where applicable.
She participated in a vaccine drive where she administered polio vaccine to little children in Lagos state.
Speaking on her involvement, she said:
This is a cause that hits close to home for me, not only as a mother of a small child, but as a proud Nigerian, whose country has been battling this disease for many years.
Other notable people who are part of the cause include Bill Gates, Manny Pacquiao, Psy, Jackie Chan, Kristen Bell, Angelique Kidjo and a host of others.
