The first rebuttal to Tiwa Savage’s 1,001 allegations against Tee Billz has surfaced, it came in the form of test results that got leaked online towards the end of last week.

Tee Billz’ Pathology Report

Apparently, the report was leaked by Tee Billz’ “friends” which points us in the direction of a possible motive but if you look a little closer, there’s more to see here than just a result.

1st Pinch – Patient Confidentiality

The test was administered using the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) guidelines which sets the standard in the US for drug testing but is adopted in Nigeria by some local laboratories. Clina Lancet laboratories has gotten tons of free promo from the release of this report to the public but in Nigeria, the privacy of patients is protected by the Rules of Professional Conduct for Medical and Dental Practitioners. So except Tee Billz consented to the release of the report to the public or it was truly disclosed by those close to him, then we could potentially have a case of a breach in patient confidentiality.

2nd Pinch – The Results are Neither Here nor There

Of all the drugs Tee Billz was tested for, only Cannabis and Benzodiazapines are detectable in a urine sample after a week.

Test Results

Source: Drugs.ie

Opiates can be detected in urine in 2-5 days

Oxycodone can be detected in urine in 1-3 days

This immediately questions whether we can draw firm conclusions from some of the test results. There’s even a disclaimer on the report –

A drug reported as NOT DETECTED does not exclude the presence of drug abuse

This implies that drugs could be present in urine but not present in levels that are detectable. There’s also extensive research that implies that consuming large amounts of fluids prior to testing could dilute urine and avoid a positive result.

3rd Pinch –  Why the drugs test first?

Tiwa Savage made a lot of allegations against Tee Billz – from infidelity to being a deadbeat dad to being an insensitive husband. So why did he respond specifically to the drug abuse allegations? Aren’t there weightier accusations to be responded to?  There were reports that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) had invited Tee Billz for questioning, it isn’t far-fetched that NDLEA’s summon and the drug tests are related somehow.

Developing story..
