Tiwa Savage: “I’m Tired of Proving Myself”

Tiwa Savage is fed up of how her accomplishments are being trivialised. Why? Because she is a woman.

The singer wrote in a series of Instastory that “it’s a sin to be a woman in Africa”.

The reaction is coming weeks after Tiwa Savage was being compared with her male contemporaries.

Some quarters asked if it were appropriate for Savage to earn equal amounts with her male contemporaries.

This is inspite of the fact that Tiwa Savage is equally as big or even began than the male artists she was being compared with.

Tiwa Savage noted that being a female artist in Africa is exhausting, the battle is almost never ending.

“I feel like giving up,” Tiwa Savage said in the post.

“I am tired of fighting. I’m tired of proving myself.”
