Davido Emerges “African Artiste Of The Year” At The 2018 VGMA

Davido has beaten his Nigerian counterparts – Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and Olamide to win the prestigious “African Artiste of the Year” category at the recently concluded Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

The event held at the International Conference Centre in Accra on Saturday, April 14th, 2018.

The award was announced just a few days after The Headies 2018 nominees list was released. Davido is nominated in six different categories, making him the most nominated artistes for the award this year.

In fact, both of his singles “If” and “Fall” will slug it out for the “Best Pop Single” category this year. The singles, released back to back in 2017, were notable hits last year.

Last year, it was the embattled singer, Runtown, who won the category with his song, “Mad Over You”.
