New DMW signing, Sinzu has called on youthto stay away from fraud. Zu, who was recently released after serving time in a US jail, was reacting to a recent debate on Nigerian social media about the criminal status of the activities of Yahoo fraudsters.

The ace-rapper told Ovie Ofugara in an interview that he has learnt his lessons.

Sinzu, formerly known as Sauce Kid, bagged a 24-month sentence on the count of aggravated fraud. The rapper said the consequences of his actions were not worth it.

“Imagine being away for five years for something that you did, maybe two, three years or something? It’s kinda senseless.” Zu stated.

Sinzu said a jail time is not what he would wish on anyone, having experienced it himself.

“It’s not a place where any man wants to be at, or woman for that matter: Being away from your family; not having your freedom… If you want to play that game, just know that there’s consequences and one day you’d probably have the answer.”

He said when nemesis catches up with perpetrators of fraud they would realise the whole effort is often not worth it.

“That one day maybe worth more to you than everything you ever hustled for.”

Sinzu is hoping to restart his music career on a fresh note following his signing with Davido’s DMW music label. The rapper’s first single post-prison life is one his fans are anticipating.

Some say Zu’s signing with DMW may spark a resurgence in the Nigerian rap scene. The rapper is renowned for his works Money Long, African American and his smash single, “Carolina”.
