Niniola did not win the “Viewers’ Choice: Best New International Act” category at the recently concluded BET 2018 awards ceremony. The singer has been dropping hits since his breakthrough in 2015.
The award ceremony which held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, CA saw Niniola slug it out with a host of other artists.
The artists include: IAMDDB, Sjava, Not3s, Nailah Blackman, Sik-k, Take A Mic, MC Sofia and Kwesi Arthur.
Niniola was only leapfrogged by the South African artist, Sjava, who won the award by having a little vote more than Nigeria’s queen, Niniola.
Niniola, who was nominated for the 2018 edition of the BET alongside fellow Nigerians Tiwa Savage and Davido, could have earned her first ever BET prize had she not been leapfrogged.
Niniola only released the remix to her hit single, “Magun” recently. The single, which features South African artist Busiswa, is already earning mad airplay all over parts of Africa.
The singer would definitely stand a better chance to win at the next BET at the rate she is churning out hits.
