Wizkid was one of the runway casts for Dolce & Gabbana’s DNA Collection yesterday. The collection was part of the fashion giant’s 144-look runway education programme which includes a crammer course and degree-level education on all things Dolce & Gabbana.

The event also saw the unveiling of D&G’s 2019 Spring/summer Menswear collection.

The singer has been part of the company’s millennial diaspora which also includes others like: Cameron Dallas, Elias Becker, Maharaja Padmanabh Singh, Tinie Tempah and Nash Grier.

Wizkid’s inclusion in the show means he is the first musician from Nigeria and Africa to be part of a major Dolce & Gabbana runway event.

Starboy participated in the show alongside top British model, Naomi Campbell as well as Nigerian-American singer, Tinie Tempah.

Wizkid appeared in Dolce & Gabbana’s Instagram-cast shows alongside other demographically specific influencers in the company’s effort at acquiring millennial users.

“We’ve been exploring sportswear, the new attitude, and learning a lot. . .” said founder, Domenico Dolce before the show.

“And one big thing we have learned,” interjected Gabbana, “is that what the new generation wants from us most is our classics. We saw it in all the fittings,”

“The perfectly tailored suits, the tuxedos, the black lace, the silk print dresses—the things we made that excited us 30 years ago are exciting young customers today.”

Wizkid modelled Dolce & Gabbana’s eyewear and black silk suit with his single, “Soco” playing in the background.
