For what so many called an uncalculated risk, the decision by Kiss Daniel and G-WORLDWIDE Entertainment to release his debut album “New Era” without any major features has paid off, and turned critics into ardent fans.
“New Era” which was released on the 14th of May 2016, with only fellow label mate Sugarboy as a feature, has since gone on to become a success and a fan favourite within days of release. The latest being that the album is charting at number 8 on the Billboard World Album Chart (Subscription required). This apart from the fact that the album charted on the UK and US iTunes Charts within hours of release.
As an artiste who believes a lot in his God-given talent and his hard work, Kiss Daniel’s rise to the top of the music industry within a few years, lends credence to the fact that talent and hard work trumps hype every time.
Since he burst on to the Nigerian music scene in 2014, Kiss Daniel has released hit after hit such as “WOJU”, “LAYE”, “GOOD TIME”, and more recently “MAMA” which has retained the position of the most played song on Nigerian Radio for two weeks straight, according to PlayData Charts.
For Kiss Daniel; “These feats and triumphs are a testament of the massive love my fans have for me, and how dedicated they are to me by going out to buy my music, and request for it on radio”.
It will be difficult now for music lovers and followers across Africa not to give credit to this gifted artiste who has been dubbed “a young hybrid of TuBaba and 9ice”. And as his success spreads from country to country in Africa, we can only rest assured that this is no African superstar who rests on his oars.
Billboard Charts are a weekly ranking of top-selling world music albums, ranked by sales data as compiled by Nielsen Music.
