Kelly Hansome has disputed the belief that artists have a stipulated period for which their music career is supposed to last.
The former Kennis Music ace told HIPTV that he would continue to create music for as long as he could.
The singer maintained that an artist’s career would continue to remain relevant in as much as the artist was releasing music.
“Music is just from the heart: if you leave music, it leaves you.”
He said the pressure record labels put on artists’ career was shortening the lifespan of their careers, adding that due to the transient nature of music tastes, an artist can now maintain relevance by adapting to newer music needs.
“The fact that record label in the past would just think it through that ‘Oh, this artist we’d bring you out, by this time we want something new.”
Kelly Hansome further claimed that all an artist need to remain relevant over time was a team that believed in the ability of the artist to make good music.
