The Nigerian music industry has witnessed great collaborative efforts between some artists and their producers. Ace producer, Jahbless, has taken it upon himself to remind music faithfuls of the importance of chemistry between artistes and their producers.
Singer-producer Jahbless, explained with a little bit of depth on his Instagram today how good understanding between producers and artistes have helped the career of both.
Jahbless stated however that for things to work the artiste has to understand his own sound.
“You need to understand your sound. Musicians who don’t know their sound often create studio albums that take on their producer’s sound.” He said.
“It’s not your producer’s album. It’s yours! Be confident in your music and sound.”
Jahbless, commonly known for his street hop single, “Joor o”, said artistes with good producers are more likely to make flexible music.
“Being with a good producer gives you the opportunity to create a piece of art that explores the various personalities in you.”
“Even if your music is rap, a good producer gives you the flexibility of making a multi-genre project.”
Jahbless also said he missed the synergy D’Banj and Donjazzy had before their breakup, adding that Wizkid and Legendary Beatz have made great sounds in the same way Don Jazzy and D’Banj had.
