Original Mama Africa, Yemi Alade has not gotten the respect she deserves. She has owned major arenas in Africa; she’s a mega hit maker and many awards later, she is now hear with her fourth album.

The album is titled Woman of Steel, a title that exemplifies Yemi Alade’s attitude to criticism, fame and personal outlook. For every smoke the singer has gotten, she’s given back twice as more smoke, unsettling her critiques all the time.

This is the energy the singer packs into Woman of Steel which comes after Beyoncé secured a collaboration with her. Yemi Alade’s pedigree is not only that of an artist making hits, it is of one who understood her audience and serves them with the best of what they want.

Yemi Alade offers Woman of Steel as a 15-song gift to the ones who have stuck with her since her debut. All the things Yemi Alade is known for came to the fore on the new project.

Woman of Steel opens with “Night and Day”, “Home”, “Shake”, “Give Dem”, “Vibe”, “Yeba”, “Remind You”, “Nobody”, “Shekere” and a couple of others.

“Shekere”, “Poverty”, “Lai Lai”, “Somto”, “Criminal”, “CiIA” and “Oh My Gush” remix all add up to the tracklist too.

Yemi Alade shows her ability to make cross over songs on the Swahili version of “Poverty”. She first established this ability with the super smash, “Johnny”.

Woman of Steel has some high profile guests appearances which include Angelique Kidjo, Duncan Mighty, and Funke Akindele. This makes it one of Yemi Alade’s most collaborative project ever.
