Famed producer, Kiddominant, has revealed how many Nigerian music producers are often shortchanged.

He revealed this in an interview with HipTV’s Nancy Isime.

The producers said that the earnings of most producers were not what they should be getting from their works.

He believed that most producers were often ignorant of the business aspect of music production and it was affecting their financial gains.

He claimed that producers were only interested in charging production fees and this causes them to lose in the long run.

Kiddominant also revealed that production fees were less than a quarter of the potential earnings a producer should get from a song.

He said producers would make more money from their work if they started to understand that they were other ways to get money from their works.

“As much as I love the art, I kind of focus more on the business part. This is even before I went to the States.”

“Producers need to expose themselves to the business aspect.”

Kiddominant has produced hit singles for D’Banj, Davido, and many other artists.

The producer was formerly signed to D’Banj’s DB Records.
