Femi Anikulapo Kuti, son of the late Afrobeats maestro, Fela Anikulapo Kuti was initially rumoured to have set a new Guinness World Record for the longest single note to be played on a saxophone beating Kenny G‘s 45 minutes, 37 seconds with his 46 minutes, 38 seconds performance.

However, this is false as Vann Burchfield in 2000 broke Kenny G’s record with his 47 minutes, 5.5 seconds leaving Femi Kuti with a 27.5 seconds gap.

This doesn’t take anything away from the spectacular performance and the King has declared his ability to last up to 50 minutes!
