The month of August will be big for Nigerian hip-hop. M.I. Abaga plans to release three albums from his Chocolate City label next month, an idea the rapper claimed Kanye West stole from him.

The Chairman said in a statement posted on his Instagram today page yesterday that he had planned the triple release before Kanye West did for GOOD Music.

US rapper, Kanye West had sanctioned the release of three albums in quick succession last month. The albums: Ye, Kids See Ghosts & Nasir were released by West and the artists signed to his label.

M.I. Abaga claimed he had this idea first. But it is a sure thing the rapper is only trolling.

“In August, three hip-hop albums I executive produced are dropping and hip-hop conversation for the year is closed.” M.I. wrote in the statement released yesterday.

The albums include: Crown by A-Q & Loose Kaynon, M.I.‘s long-awaited album, Yung Denzl, Blaqbonez’s debut album, badboyblaq.

The albums are scheduled for release on the 17th, 24th & 31st of August 2018.

if Crown were released in August, it would be Loose Kaynon’s first project since The Gemini Project which was released in 2013. Crown would also be A-Q’s first collaborative project with any other artist.
