There is an ongoing rift between DMW and one of the label’s business partners, GoldenBoy Entertainment. The rift is over the ownership of the fast-rising artist, Peruzzi.

The conflict got public attention after GoldenBoy Entertainment associate, Patrick Anyaene called out Davido and DMW in an Instablog comment.

Peruzzi is reportedly co-owned by GoldenBoy Entertainment and DMW.

This means Peruzzi’s materials was supposed to be released with the logos and names of the two record companies.

Anyaene had written in the comment section of a post by Instablog about the Ghanaian actor, Fred Nuamah who bought a Porsche for his wife.

“At least we will see her driving it… Unlike… Cough Cough… Pls make her plate number “REALITY”,” Patrick Anyaene wrote.

The comment was a thinly veiled subliminal to Davido who recently bought his girlfriend, Chioma, a car.

The DMW boss would later respond that his girlfriend could not drive at the time, which was why she has not been seen riding the car he bought for her.

This then led to a one-sided rant from the GoldenBoy Entertainment representative.

Patrick Anyaene wrote back via Instastory that Davido would not have had a hit song if it were not for him.

“Abeg, without me you wouldn’t have a hit since November last year. Do the right thing!”

When Peruzzi signed with DMW, the nature of the deal was not revealed publicly.
