YBNL’s Chinko Ekun said he believed that being nominated for award prizes was recognition for an artiste’s effort.

He said this in an interview with HIPTV recently.

Ekun explained that whether the artiste wins the award or not it was the recognition from the album that matters.

He said losing out on award prizes did not mean an artiste was not doing good.

Chinko maintained that the work of the artiste might not be exactly what the award organisers were looking out for.

“You might not satisfy the criteria behind winning the awards or not. But I think awards would encourage most artistes in what they do and to work better. It is good when people are working and we appreciate them.”
