Charles Oputa, a.ka. Charly Boy seem to be on a new career path as an activist. The biker and showbiz legend led a group of Nigerians to the National Assembly to complain about corruption in the legislature.

In his words:”I am here to encourage some youths who told me that they are not happy with the way things are going in this country. I have always had this faith in my country. I have always said that the future of this country lies in the hands of its exceptional youths and until these youths start to crawl out of wherever they are hiding, Nigeria is going to be in jeopardy.

“I was happy that some youths are doing what young people should  do and I am just here to encourage them to take their rightful place in society. I have also advised them on the need to go back to the drawing board  and come out massively because this is a course for the few men and women of integrity left in Nigeria to come and speak out against this oppression, he said.

Officers and men of the Nigerian Police, however, denied the group access into the National Assembly saying that “they had not written to inform the lawmakers of their coming.”

But protesters blocked the main entrance of the National Assembly thereby preventing movement to and from the complex.

They then announced their intention continue the daily sit-out at the main gate of the Assembly until they see the desired change.
