Base One has laid claim to the ownership of the unadulterated shaku shaku dance. Prior to this time, no one individual has made outright claim to having originated the dance.
The singer, who also raps said he and street king, Small Doctor had started the earliest shaku shaku dance before it became a mainstream movement.
Base One made this claim in a recent interview with HIPTV where he tried to substantiate his position as the real originator of the dance.
Base explained that the origin of the true Shaku Shaku could be traced to his music video for the song, “Gbefun” which had Small Doctor on it.
“If you watch the video very well, you’ll know that shaku shaku elevated. It started from the leg move from there the hand gestures started coming in. From there, different types of style started.”
Baseone maintained that “we started it.” adding that he is happy the dance has gone on to become very popular both in Nigeria and outside the African continent.
