Rihanna has acknowledged the Dream Catchers – a kid dance group in Ikorodu, Lagos, Nigeria – who tagged her in a post on Instagram.

Rihanna had used a video of the group to celebrate her emergence as the first female artist to hit 2 billion worldwide streams on Apple Music.

The group also posted a photograph of them on Instagram thanking Rihanna for using their video—which Rihanna reposted for the second time.

“Awww, my lil squad,” Rihanna wrote in the post, “you really brought a pure joy to our spirits just by seeing how happy you are when you dance. You personally made my day.”

Her acknowledgement has sparked react, though not against the pop star, but against Nigerian artists by comedian and musician, Tunde Ednut.

Ednut wrote in a comment on the same post that Nigerian artists are often snobbish in spite of the not-so-popular ranking. He berated them for not showing love to their supporters in similar way to Rihanna had done.
