Who would have thunk Urban Highlife singer, Adekunle Gold has some bars in him? But sure he does and his latest post on Instagram proves so.
Adekunle Gold took “Emotionless” off Drake’s new album, Scorpion and rapped over the instrumental.
The decision could signal efforts by the singer to come out of his comfort zone after several claims by some quarters that his sound has turned monotonous.
In the video, Adekunle Gold rapped, making references to his newly released project, About 30 while also charging his fans to live right.
The delivery of the song took a storytelling pattern of which Adekunle Gold managed to wrap witty rhymes around.
This is not the first time Adekunle Gold would try something different, except this time it was a completely unrelated genre. On his album, About 30, Gold attempted pure Afrobeat, Fela kind.
Since the post, captioned “and remember to have fun, kids” was published on Adekunle Gold’s Instagram, it has received over 20,000 likes and a few thousand comments.
Adekunle Gold only just released his sophomore album, About 30 in about a few months ago.
