The content of Nigerian music remains an interesting subject of debate every time. 2baba said content of Nigerian music should awaken the consciousness of Nigerian youths.
The singer made the submission during a discussion session on The Gist with Emma Ugolee and Majek Fashek recently.
2baba stated that while there should be an availability of choice contents, conscious music should be given more attention.
“No matter the options, we need conscious music,” he said with enough emphasis.
“We need people that’d constantly sing about things that would mentally upgrade the mindset of the the youth: make them think positively; make them think constructively. Those kind of music, we need it a lot.”
2baba explained that loose attention is paid to the kind of music playing on the airwaves across all hours.
“We have a society where they play every type of music from morning till morning. There should be time for some kind of music that are immorally heavy: [immorally heavy] music should play at a time when kids are sleeping.”
