The way Mr Eazi is moving in 2019 one would think the singer wouldn’t be releasing music that much. He’s performed at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. He’s also actively running his emPawa programme.

So, to see him dropping new music isn’t less of surprising. He not only released “Supernova”, he backed it up with a visualiser — which contributes to the experience you’ll rack up from listening to the song.

There are too many things that can make you like a song. Visualisers are one of those things. It works even better if the song is so simple and it doesn’t make you think at all.

The new song isn’t atypical of what the singer has been doing on his mixtape series. On first listen, you will get the impression that the song could be one of those cuts that didn’t make either of his mixtapes.

“Supernova” is backed by Banku music, a slow, smooth blend of Ghanaian highlife music and contemporary Nigerian pop sounds.

On the new song, Mr Eazi tells his love interest his luxury offerings. Which ranges from sweet loving to shopping trips above and beyond.

The singer croons with the confidence of one who’s at the top of his game. He even offers his love interest his Godzilla.

“Supernova” is really good, but to truly enjoy the song, you have to listen to it alongside its visualiser. Seeing an animated Mr Eazi sheepishly smiling and logging shopping bags behind his back and shoulders will heighten the entertainment.

Produced by Dre Skull and E Kelly, “Supernova” is made to last on standard playlists.
