Duncan Mighty “Amaechi Nu Wike” is a rallying call to PHC’s biggest political actors.

Port-Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State renowned more for its violent tendencies than for its oil. This is thanks to the intense rivalry between some of its biggest political actors.

The Governor of the state, Nyesom Wike and the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, a former governor of the state are not on good terms. The result of their rivalry has led to gun battles and violence in areas of the state, as both struggle to hold on to & show power.

When two elephants fight…

Duncan Mighty, PHC’s first son wades into that matter with his new song, “Amaechi Nu Wike”. “Amaechi Nu Wike” is an intercession, a plea to both warring factions to sheath their swords.

The singer sings completely in Ikwerre Language, a bit of praise singing here and there. Wene also tasks the two parties with the overall idea of the song — peace for the benefit of the state and its people.

Duncan Mighty has put Port-Harcourt City on the map with his music before. In that song, “Port-Harcourt Boy”, he hailed some of the most powerful people in the state — including the present governor, Nyesom Wike before he became governor.

“Amaechi Nu Wike” is a solemn song. And let it not be said anywhere that Duncan Mighty did not use his influence to call for the betterment of PHC.
