Word is that Kizz Daniel is allegedly using the police to harass an artist he signed to his label last year, Demmie Vee. Next is that the artist is not actually signed as Nigerians were made to believe.
A video posted by Demmie Vee on his Instagram allegedly showed officers of the Nigeria Police Force raiding his apartment. The good thing is they did not meet him at home.
Vee has now taken down the video from his Instagram account, but some humans with acumen somehow recorded it and kept it for the culture.
In the video, a voice called instructed another person to “come down”. The note of urgency in the voice was peculiar to officers willing to get things done quickly.
“Baba, I thought we sorted this out already. Why using police to find me?” Demmie Vee wrote in the caption of the video he has now deleted.
However, It is unclear whether those in the video were truly police officers.
According to several quarters, the whole police involvement had to do with contractual obligations. Kizz Daniel had allegedly breached an existing agreement binding Vee to Flyboy Inc, a label he launched last year.
No true contract exists between the two, industry talking heads claim. Instead, they have a “let me blow on your platform” agreement.
At the heart of this agreement is a 15 million naira deal, which Demmie Vee himself confirmed in another post.
Kizz Daniel used the 15 million naira to rejuvenate his career which was plummeting at the time. Demmie Vee said he already asked for a refund.
“I can’t believe you have the guts to bring police to me because I asked for refund of my money. You tricked us and collected my 15 million naira to boost your own shaking career.
“I wasn’t a struggling artist when you came to my boss for help which resulted in a recording contract. I remember you promised heaven and earth that time.”
Due process what?
Kizz Daniel’s reaction to that was allegedly to send police hot on the heels of his own artist.
Recall that Kizz Daniel during his Kiss Daniel days had major issues with his former label, G-Worldwide Entertainment. Although, much of Vado’s issue with G-Worldwide were mostly “due process” and straight to court.
It is not the same with Vado’s signee. Observers say this issue may never reach court premises. Why, because there was no deal in the first place.
So far, Kizz Daniel and his management are yet to react to Demmie Vee’s outburst.
