Kid Konnect promised toward the end of last year that he’ll be releasing new music every few weeks, so it’s good to see that he’s a man of his word. Konnect was heavily in Show Dem Camp’s mixtape Clone Wars 3 – the Recession but as far solo efforts go, the producer has talked about putting EP’s out more often.

There is a new EP on the way. Konnect has released the first track from the forthcoming SONIKK: Secure Your Happiness EP which will be the follow-up to the downright brilliant Small Chops (Vol. 1) released in Q4, 2016. The song is titled “Zone” and begins with a clip of Kanye West reminding the world that he didn’t come here to be liked, he came to make a difference.

With a menacing beat from Konnect and verse apiece from Vector and Uzikwendu, who are clearly in the mood, the same non-conformist attitude is spread throughout the record. Vector went in first, firing off a better verse than anything he did on his last album Lafiaji.

I’m in my zone any track that I’m in, son

I get respect everywhere that I’ve been, son

I’ve been the father, y’all been sons

Inspiration is infinitum, if you need some – the Deep One.

Uzikwendu did his thing too, the tongue twisting MC started off slow, then speed things up, then slowed things back down again.

I said – things are not the same, I am in the zone
My tongue is like an Uzzi painted all chrome
I’m oozing of greatness like a Cologne
So if you wanna copy me, go make a clone

Kid Konnect also got had a few things to say, he saved the space for verse 2 for himself.

A lotta people living average
Settle for less, that’s some sad sh*t
Me?…….I’m a G, I’m a savage
I run my own race, stay ready, get active

This bangs! Watch out for the new EP coming soon.
