Yemi Alade unveiled as brand ambassador for Africa Fashion Week 2016

The organizers of Africa Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN) and Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) have unveiled Yemi Alade as the brand ambassador for both events.

Ronke Ademiluyi, founder of AFWN, had this to say –

This year, we chose someone who embodies the true African woman. A strong, intellectual and musically inclined woman; her music reflects what’s good, what’s great and what’s best about the motherland. We couldn’t have chosen anyone more suitable to be our brand ambassador. Known to the world as Mama Africa, but known to us as Yemi Alade.

Yemi’s sophomore album Mama Africa came out recently but in addition to being a recording artiste, Yemi is also a jewellery designer. She launched her first collection of costume jewelry the ‘Yemi Alade Collection’ with online jewelry retailer, Bland2Glam last year.

The Africa Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN) is scheduled to hold from 1st July – 3rd July 2016 at the prestigious Eko Hotel & Suites. While the Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) is scheduled to hold 16th September – 17th September 2016 at London Olympia, West Kensington.
