MTV is bringing its hit TV series “Ridiculousness” to Africa.

“Ridiculousness Africa” will be hosted by award-winning actor, comedian and TV host Thomas Gumede and co-hosted by South African actress and TV presenter Boity Thulo and Nigerian comedic genius Basketmouth.

Ridiculousness Africa is expected to follow the structure of the controversial TV show – various viral videos are extracted from the internet, usually involving failed do-it-yourself attempts at stunts, to which the host and his panelists add mock commentary. Except that rather than Rob Dyrdek, Sterling “Steelo” Brim and Chanel West Coast providing the mock commentary, the humor on Ridiculousness Africa is expected to be more relatable to Africans.

No news on when the show will air but according to MTV South Africa, it will be on MTV (channel 130 on DSTv).

The crew is currently shooting in Spain.

Meanwhile, Boity appeared on another MTV show adapted for the African audience recently – Lip Sync Battle Africa – where she contested against her ex-lover Cassper Nyovest.
