Singer, Yemi Alade has described the competition in the Nigerian music industry as a “healthy”.
The singer was reacting to comparison of her craft with that of other artists during an interview with Hot 98.3FM recently.
Yemi Alade said there is no leader in the Nigerian music industry.
“I am not comparing anybody. I respect everybody in the industry. We all inspire each other in the industry because of the healthy competition.”
She said this is why a lot of artists in the country are striving to be “number one”.
“We’re all trying to be number one. Someone said yesterday that there’s no number one. That’s why everybody is competing to be number one.”
Describing the competition in the Nigerian music industry as “healthy”, Yemi Alade stated that it is the presence of healthy competition that has kept the Nigerian music industry afloat.
She also stated that most of the top artists in Nigeria can comfortably sell out the same amount of tickets for their shows.
