Wizkid performed at the 2016 edition of the Rhythm Unplugged concert in Lagos. This is in clear defiance of his doctor’s orders which had him cancelling all shows he was due to perform at this month and in January.
He was also sure to let the audience know this as he said before his act began: “Doctors told me not to perform, but before I blew, this concert held, and has supported me. I have to do this for them.”
The ban has also earned him a lawsuit by an Ugandan firm who’s suing him for not showing at a concert that was to have taken place on the 3rd of December. The Claimants accused him of fraud and cheating. It also resulted in an arrest warrant for Africa’s Starboy.
Also at the concert were P-Square, Davido, Olamide, Falz, Omawumi and many others. The show was compered by Bovi and produced by Cobhams.
