Wale is currently on a promo run to support his new record “My PYT”, the rapper stopped by New York’s Power 105.1 Breakfast Club to answer questions about his relationship with label mate Meek Mill, his relationship with his parent label Atlantic Records and the things that have hindered his success in the industry.
On relationship with Meek, Wale says all is well –
We’re always going to be good…You know how you have a big family and you have 2 brothers that are close in age? If something goes down, Meek is going to be like – you good? Do you need anything?.. That’s my brother.
The relationship between the label mates has fluctuated over the last couple of years. It began to go downhill in July, 2014 when Meek voiced his frustrations with Wale for not promoting his album on social media. The two have made up and fallen out, and made up and fallen out again, since then. However, Wale insists their relationship is in a great place now –
Even if me and Meek don’t speak for a year – that n*gga knows I love that n*gga and he’s got love for me no matter what. People are going to try and stir the pot and all that… No matter what happens, it’s going to be about the squad.
During the interview, the rapper also talked about his new album S.H.I.N.E, his new love interest which he’s reluctant to share with the public and spending $1.1m on Uber rides in 2014 alone.
I spent 1.1 Milly on über in 2014 “@HamiltonAnthony: @Wale the surcharges are crazy!!”

Now that Uber is operational in Lagos and Abuja, I’m sure more Nigerians can relate.
