According to South African DJ and producer DJ Maphorisa, the “One Dance” single is just one of four collaborations between Drake and Wizkid.

In a recent interview with Genius, he detailed how the record came together –

I was recording Wiz when they sent [the files]. There was nothing really there. We started working on it—I added some production.

Maphorisa said they finished “One Dance” in only a week and credits Drake for making them come out of their musical comfort zone.

Maphorisa is now a part of Wizkid’s Starboy Music production team that was credited with producing the “One Dance” record alongside Noah “40” Shebib and Nineteen85.

Maphorisa first linked up with the Nigerian super star for his 2014 hit “In My Bed” and produced his single “Soweto Baby” featuring DJ Buckz the following year.

Maphorisa is also part of the 4-man South African group Uhuru and has collaborated with the likes of Black Coffee, Mafikizolo, Professor, and Kwesta.
