Teni the Entertainer is a special breed. Everyone probably knows this by now. The artist does not write her songs; they are mostly freestyle music.
So, “Askamaya”, “Case”, “Fargin”, “Wait”, “Fake Jersey” and many of her other songs were freestyles. She does not just record those freestyles alone, she tries to perfect them.
“Everything is a freestyle,’ Teni tells Tim Westwood on Capital Xtra in a recent interview.
The Entertainer said after freestyling, she goes back to the song to remake it until it becomes perfect.
The singer has been recording in the United Kingdom since the past few weeks. She said she has not been working with anyone else.
Teni said she is making “all kinds of music”, but she enjoys making conscious music the most.
The singer explained that conscious music comes very easy to her and when she gets into the mood, she gets lost in the moment.
“I just get into the spirit and I’m gone. Most times I can’t remember if this is me; like I’m lost. I’m lost.”
Meanwhile, Teni has described the label she is signed to as a “flexible” outfit. The singer hinted that the label allows her freehand to just be her.
“I’m signed and I’m really blessed because the label is really flexible.”
The singer acknowledged that the label, Dr Dolor Entertainment has been supportive of her career since joining in 2017.
