Tekno’s management has reached out to Professor Linkin for settlement over the right to use the song title, “Jogodo” a Punch report can confirm.
The report which was published on Sunday 22nd of July 2018 stated that the “Jogodo” singer’s grievances would be addressed soon.
Professor Linkin had two weeks ago raised alarm that his intellectual right to the word “Jogodo” was being breached by Tekno without settlement.
His complaints came following settlement agreement between Danfo Driver and Tekno over the use of parts of their song “Kpolongo” in the newly released song by Tekno, “Jogodo”.
The self-acclaimed father of Jogodo said he felt betrayed by Danfo Driver who were his friends until the song came out and they got settlement for it.
Professor Linkin said he owned the original right to “Jogodo” which was released in 2004 under the imprint of Globe Disk music.
“I cannot believe that Danfo Drivers are now fighting for Tekno and raining insults on me, calling me a hungry man. But they forget that I am only fighting for my intellectual property,” Professor Linkin said.
“There is a lot of betrayal in the music industry. I was the one that gave them the platform to release their first album. It is so painful. Tekno is not an Ajegunle person, but they are supporting him and neglecting me who grew up in Ajegunle with them.”
Tekno’s representatives are however yet to release a public statement confirming their efforts to settle with Professor Linkin.
