Small Doctor, birth name Adekunle Temitope has been arrested by Lagos police over alleged firearm possession. The singer was also indicted on the accusation of indiscriminate shooting.

The “Penalty” singer also allegedly threatened to shoot a traffic police officer on duty.

The Lagos State police commissioner, Edgal Imohimi confirmed the arrest during a briefing with journalists Monday.

Imohimi said Temitope was being investigated for allegedly shooting indiscriminately during his show in Agege area in Lagos.

The alleged shooting reportedly occurred November 27. Three other men were also arrested alongside Small Doctor.

“It was alleged that four unknown men, in an unregistered green SUV, had brought out a gun and threatened a policeman that if he did not leave the road, they would shoot him,” Imohimi said during the briefing.

“Believing that they were armed robbers, I sent out my men and fortunately the men, with the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Shogunle Division, were able to intercept the vehicle and the suspects were arrested and brought down to the headquarters for interrogation.

It was then discovered that one of them is the same Adekunle Temitope, a.k.a. ‘Small Doctor’. They were arrested in possession of a functional rifle, cartridge and some of their personal belongings.”
Imohimi, who expressed disappointment at the musician’s conduct.

The singer is a police and Agege LCDA ambassador.
