Superstar Skales has described police officer, Yomi Shogunle as a “bad person”. Yomi Shogunle is arguably the most hated Nigerian on Twitter today.
The controversial assistant commissioner of police has drawn criticism from many Nigerian youths over his stance on the #EndSARS campaign.
Yomi Shogunle had once written that if truly Nigerians wanted the end of the dreadful police unit, SARS, they should retweet his tweet 186million times.
“186million retweets to end SARS,” Shogunle had tweeted.
This prompted #EndSARS advocate, @segalink to start a petition to get Twitter to suspend the @yomishogunle account.
Skales, one of the most vocal artists contributing to the #EndSARS campaign, took his frustration to the television, in spite not being only artists that have been harassed before by the police
“I’d say that guy is an embarrassment to the police,” Skales told TVC in an interview.
He went further to call for the resignation and dismissal of Yomi Shogunle from the police force.
“How can SARS be shooting innocent people up and down; disturbing youths and you come on Twitter and put 186million retweets to end SARS? You’re a disgrace!”
