Reminisce has shared his thoughts on the classification of rappers who deliver their craft in their native language as “local/indigenous rapper”.
Recently, the rapper told Moet Abebe on One-on-One that, personally, he preferred to be referred to as a rapper or a singer and songwriter.
He noted that while the appellation (local rapper) was calculated to be a nuanced way of diminishing the method, it was still all right; adding that his achievements as a rapper were not local and that he was surpassing frontiers.
“We are breaking borders. But indigenous is fine, you know, on a Yoruba level.”
