The ‘Wetin Dey’ singer and his manager Danku have been accused of fraud by the owner of Barcode Lounge in Kaduna state. Barcode alleges that the duo didn’t show up after agreeing to perform for free at his club. The CEO claimed to have sent money for their flights and eventual rescheduling up to the tune of N130,000.
Rayce apparently agreed due to the nature of relationship he has with one DJ Nani. The club management claimed to have booked tickets for Rayce and his manager but on the day they were supposed to fly in, he got a call from Danku claiming they missed their flight and asking if Barcode could send them 50,000 to reschedule another flight.
That was how he sent up to about 130,000 naira only for him to be told they wouldn’t be able to make it. He promptly asked for a refund and was told it would be paid but the club never got it’s money back.
Danku on his part claims that the management booked them on an early flight and didn’t inform them till very late which made them miss the flight. He also claimed that it was only 60,000 he asked for to enable them upgrade their seat to first class as the flight was already full.
He added that he would refund the money after the ticket issue has been settled with his travel agent. Danku accused the Barcode management of trying to besmirch his reputation and promised to take legal action against them.
