In spite of Nonso Amadi’s commercial success with singles, “Radio” and “Tonight” he said he makes music for only himself. The singer just want to enjoy making music, that is all.

The “Tonight” crooner told One Tribe Magazine in an interview that he still made music he enjoyed listening to.

Nonso acknowledged that he now has a rather broad audience to satisfy due to the commercial direction his music has taken.

“At this point, I don’t think I’m making music specifically for people,” the singer said.

He said the pressure of being a commercial musician was often demanding, adding that he would continue making the kind of music he loved.

“I’m still making music that I enjoy listening to. When you’re a commercial artist, you then have to tend to the greater audience and give them what they want and it is a bit more stressful and demanding but right now I’m just doing what I love to do.”

Nonso said he has learnt to take responsibility for his music, adding that young artists should learn to do so too.

“I would say you need to push through and learn to take responsibility for most things regarding your career. I do my mixing, recording, mastering, If I could I would do my videos myself. Become reliant and dependent on yourself if you can. Never give up.”
