Sharing his thoughts on the Nigerian entertainment scene, Juggernaut who is signed to the music label owned by the one of the sons of the late Afrobeats musician’ Seun Kuti’ said that quite a number of the current artistes do music without much thought and depth. He said:
‘Nigerian artists are lazy. Many of them keep saying they are doing commercial songs but you find out that many of these songs don’t have lyrics you can really relate with or understand. They can’t even stand the test of time neither are they conscious or indepth.‘
On expectations from his record label boss, who is a successful Afrobeat musician, Juggernauts said it’s a blessing and reason to work harder than even expected.
Juggernauts disclosed that he has been working since his path crossed with Seun Kuti in the late Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s house on Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.
‘We were just doing our thing, free styling and dropping verses when he heard me and he invited me to his place and that was the beginning of the journey. Seun is very intelligent and he is a versatile reader, who consumes several books and that has made him enlightened. He knows what he wants and I have been working hard in the studio as a result of that,’
disclosed the ‘Obinrin Asiko’ crooner.
The artiste added that he’s influenced to do many genre of music, however that an auto crash that almost claimed his life slowed his music promotion down but he’s back on his feet to do more about his music.
